Ken Behr is a former drug smuggler and deep-cover DEA informant whose 50+ years in the drug trade—from teenage dealer to major marijuana and cocaine runner—provide a raw, unfiltered perspective on America’s War on Drugs.

Raised on a small New Jersey farm in the 1960s, Ken’s life shifted after losing his father at 13. Moves to New Orleans in 1969 and then South Florida in 1973 placed him at the heart of the exploding drug scene. He began selling marijuana in high school, eventually scaling up to large smuggling operations involving thousands of pounds of cannabis and cocaine from Jamaica and Colombia throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Facing a RICO indictment and up to 25 years in prison, Ken cooperated as a DEA operative, helping dismantle networks he once ran. Now, after probation and rebuilding, he remains involved in the evolving cannabis world—legal, grey, and black markets—and speaks candidly about prohibition’s failures, sentencing injustices, and his path to redemption. He is the author of One Step Over The Line: Confessions of a Marijuana Mercenary.
