Daniel Larimer is a pioneering software engineer, serial entrepreneur, and blockchain innovator renowned for inventing Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) and building foundational decentralized platforms.
He founded BitShares (the world's first decentralized exchange and finance platform in 2013–2014), co-founded Steem/Steemit (a blockchain-based social media rewarding content creators with cryptocurrency), and served as co-founder and CTO of Block.one, where he architected EOSIO—the high-performance blockchain software powering EOS, enabling scalable decentralized applications with high throughput, low latency, and no user fees.
A Virginia Tech computer science graduate, Larimer has focused on free-market solutions for secure life, liberty, and property through advanced consensus mechanisms, economic incentives, and decentralized governance.
